Product Analyst (m/f/d) in Berlin

Working location: Home office / remote within Europe

As a product analyst, you are part of the shop digital product team & are responsible for creating a digital shopping experience our customers love.

  • Definition, set up and leadership of the conversion rate optimization strategy
  • Understanding, prioritizing and executing optimization efforts (test scenarios for A/B tests) to improve our customer shopping experience
  • Communicating insightful evaluations and interpretations of the findings gained in A/B tests both visually and verbally
  • Empowering our shop and performance marketing functions to become fully data and insight driven
  • Ensuring that the data is trustworthy (reliable, complete & consistent)
  • Owning and recommending the tools that empower us to move forward in CRO

We empower our digital product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love, yet work for our business. Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, generally comprised of a product manager, a product designer, and several engineers. We staff our digital product teams with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are:

  • Valuable  – our customers choose to buy or use it
  • Viable  – the solution works within the many constraints of the business
  • Usable  – the user can figure out how to use it
  • Feasible  – our engineers have the skills and technology to implement

While the product manager is accountable for ensuring a solution is valuable and viable, and the marketing team is responsible for bringing the right leads to our shop, the product analyst is accountable for gathering, prioritising & sharing data-driven insights that improve the probability visitors take desired actions (e.g. conversion, add-to-cart) on our shop’s pages.

This means that the conversion rate optimisation manager must contribute to her product team:

  • Deep knowledge of our users and customers, defining and driving a roadmap of data-driven initiatives (removing blockers & balancing time vs accuracy)
  • Industry trends and the competitive landscape as they pertain to the digital shopping experience
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, consistently pushing the status quo through data-driven innovation

This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role.  You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern conversion rate optimisation and quantitative testing
  • 3 years working on technology-powered fast-paced products as either a conversion rate optimisation manager, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher
  • Demonstrated ability to drive key performance metrics (e.g. CR, CPC, BR) & figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
  • Proven ability to engage with product managers, designers, marketing managers, engineers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital analytics best practices, tools and how to use, implement, modify and debug them:
    • Must have - Google Analytics, Data Studio, Tag Manager, A/B testing tools (e.g. Google Optimize, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly / other)
    • Great to have – HotJar, Amplitude / Mixpanel
  • Fluency in English – both spoken & written
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & SQL

We know that innovation thrives on teams where diverse points of view come together to solve hard problems in ways that are just now possible.  As such, we explicitly seek people that bring diverse life experiences, diverse educational backgrounds, diverse cultures, and diverse work experiences.  Please be prepared to share with us how your perspective will bring something unique and valuable to our shop digital product team.
